Intermission

Having a few minor issues with YouTube at the moment, so the intended post is a little delayed. Especially as it's a heavily laden video post. Musical bonanza no less. Now that's build up for you.

In the meantime, things, right at this particular moment in time, are pretty damn good. Lots of "Life" bits are swimming along nicely. I'm beginning to think that maybe it's just a lull before normal service is resumed and my daily chaos returns. However, whilst it lasts I'm going to enjoy every moment of it.

Immediate dates for All Mod Cons to remember...the 10th and 24th of October (not wanting to wish my life away, but they're going to be good dates and it's sweet having something to look forward to). There will be posts explaining these later.

I will leave you with a picture from a brilliant film. Quadrophenia. If you haven't seen it, make sure you do! And let me know what you think!

Quadrophenia! Excellent film, if I do say so may self. Jimmy was my heart throb in my teenage days. We were a part of a Mod resurgence in the early 90s fully equipped with scooters and all.

Reeny - Oh how I dream of having a scooter! A real old one, that I can do up myself. Custom paint job, chrome, mirrors, the works. I really was born in the wrong damn decade. Got any photos of you back then??

I would have to dig for pics from those days. I don´t have any but i know my friends do. Once I was out of the scene i sold all my clothes for $20, this included all my fred perrys, ben sherman sweaters, an alpha bomber jacket and a herrington imported from London. I still kick myself for doing that. I was more of a rude girl than mod. We used to go to scooter runs and dances held by different modernist societies. I should just do a post about it.

The mods were always THE best dressed, I can still see them dancing at the parties, although it was in 1991/1992 you could have sworn it was back in the sixties...so cool man!

PS: Do you know how much cash i could have made now selling all those vintage fred perrys...dang it i am dumb.

Reeny - Yeah, I know full well how much they cost now! It's shocking. Even new stuff costs a bomb. Although, I do kind of shy away from the stereotypical "mod" clothing. Being a decorator, it's surprising how much of my clothing gets paint on. Even if it's nowhere near work. And I spend too much cash on Weller gigs & music to warrant more clothes purchases. Although...you did miss the post on my old blog where I spent £225 on a jacket. Took me a week to decide to get it. One good reason for wanting winter to arrive, because it's a damn hot jacket! I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing it to Germany next month, and Ireland the month after. Expect a photo or 2. Maybe.
