The One Where I Talk About Hot English Boys

So AMC put out a call for guest bloggers, and since he’s totally my blog crush (he volunteered for the job, honest!) I oh-so-generously offered.

But let’s face it, I have one of the girliest blogs ever, so if you’re wanting a post about my own “Little Steed” or Paul Weller, or home improvement? Yeah, totally not today my dears.

I’m thinking a post something along the lines of: Why British men are so much hotter than Canadian men. Yeah, that sounds about right.

Reason # 1: You know Shakespeare? Totally like “Man of the Millenium.” He can make a girl all swoony just with this words.

Reason #2: Jude Law. Colin Firth. Alan Rickman. Gary Oldman.

Reason # 3: Like Harry Potter could have done his magic anywhere else!

Reason #4: How many royal Canadian guys are there?

Reason # 5: Charlie Chaplin. Legend. Hilarious. Enough said.

Reason # 6: James Bond. Shaken not stirred. And there must be something about him since all the Bond-girls seem so willing to do his bidding. And c’mon- anything with Sean Connery - Puuurrr….

Reason # 7: King Arthur. Oh yeah – he totally pulled the sword out of that stone. (Did that just sound dirty?)

Reason # 8: As much as Hugh Grant might have his misdemeanors – I do love him for this:

Reason #9: Mmmm Davy...

Reason #10:

Good post. I managed to wrangle me an English boy while he was over here in Canada and he hasnt gone anywhere since. The only problem with them is the fact that some eat Marmite...ew.

Universal - I would also like to point out that I didn't put either of you up to it! Just for the record.

(Sean Connery is Scottish, but as it's him, he can be an Englishman for the purposes of James Bond. But ONLY because it's him)

Top post and thank you muchly! Although I may have some issues about #10! (Flattery gets you pretty much anywhere really!)

Was this post about British guys or English, because they're not the same thing.

And yeah, Connery is Scottish. But so is James Bond himself.

Papercuts - Unfortunately the place of birth of James Bond hasn't been stated by Ian Fleming, making it fairly hard to ascertain his "Nationality". Whilst his father is Scottish, and his Mother is Swiss, some people have reported that James was born in different countries (even Germany and Switzerland). Although I think it is fairly commonly considered that he is in fact "British". Which, as you stated, is different to being English.

All the "real" people on the wonderful Universals list (Shakespeare, Jude Law, Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Charlie Chaplin, Hugh Grant, and Davy Jones) were all born in England, making them English. I'm also guessing that she's refering to Prince William as "Royal", because the rest of them aren't what I would consider "hot". He too was born in England.

Also, I like Marmite.

Crap- did I commit some sort of cultural faux pas here? I thought AMC and I fixed up all the errors in this post in advance...
I was trying to be complimentary, not politically insensitive :(

Universal - I completely took it on face value and loved it. Not least for the fact that I made it into the same post as King Arthur! And Gary Oldman, who is utterly fantastic in Leon (one of my favorite films).

Just had a thought...stick all those people on your list together at a party...who gets to eat the last Malteser?!? My money is on Oldman.

Gary Oldman is actually my favourite actor like...ever...

He was a fabulous Rosencrantz...uh or Guildenstern! :P

Okay, AMC is a great guy and all but to put him in the same category as Shakespeare and King Arthur??? That’s blasphemy. I’m in shock. (Charlie Chaplin...maybe...)
