Ham Shank Me A Fist

Not the intended post. Have had "technology" issues. Managed to contract an STI (Stupid Technology Infection) which completely killed my browser. I then had to move ALL of my valuable files onto an external hard drive (which took ages due to all the music), then reload Vista and all of the software. I then had to go through all the updates from Microshaftyouallthetime. Half way through downloading the necessaries the broadband decided to up and fuck off, leaving my laptop in limbo with sod all working. By this point it was 1.30am and I gave up and went to bed.

The next night I spent AGES on the phone to Virgin Media. We recently changed from Orange because they were utter shite (I've never known such bad customer service). Virgin Media on the other hand were completely brilliant. The woman on the other end of the line was patient, had all the right answers, and most importantly talked me through getting back online. Top marks to Virgin Media.

I've now managed to reload all the missing updates, and I'm back. Minus all photos and music for 1 more night. Normal service will be resumed shortly.

However, in the meantime, does anyone know where I can get a copy of winrar that won't cost me owt and won't bludgeon my laptop in the arse with a large virtual rubber dong?

Also...saw this HERE and as I don't think I've done one of these on this blog, and it's music orientated, I thought I'd give it a bash.

If your life were a soundtrack, what would the music be?
1. Open your library (iTunes, winamp, media player, Zen, iPod)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the name of whatever song comes up

Feel free to either post your own, or leave your answers in the comments below!

Opening Credits - Sweet Amber by Metallica

Waking Up - Ride A White Horse by Goldfrapp

First Day At School - We're Not Supposed To by Supergrass

Falling In Love - Marriage of Figaro (Act 2) by Mozart

Breaking Up - Dune Buggy by The Presidents Of The United States Of America

Prom or Similar - Listen To Me by Buddy Holly

Life's Ok - November Has Come by Gorillaz

Mental Breakdown - Sleep Now In The Fire by Rage Against The Machine

Driving - Since I First Met You from the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack

Flashback - 100 Years by Dr Dog

Getting Back Together - A Change by Sheryl Crow

Final Battle - Blow Ya Mind (Yomanda Remix) by Load N Load

Death Scene - Married With Children by Oasis

Funeral Song - Disco Science by Mirwais

Wow...and there was no rigging of this either! Way too many of them are fairly apt in my opinion. Particularly like the School, Breakdown, and Birth Of Child ones. And no Weller...hmmm...

My boyfriend's friend (ugh that sounds so lame) toured with Jose Gonzalez. Yup, that's a fact.

Here's a few songs I picked:

Life's OK - Nice Weather for Ducks by Lemon Jelly
Wedding - I'll Be Loving You Always by Stevie Wonder
Opening Credits - Big Hard Sun by Eddie Vedder
Mental Breakdown - Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies or Where Is My Mind by the Pixies (can you tell I am familiar with mental breakdowns?)
Prom - Forever Young by Alphaville (thanks to Napolean Dynamite of course)
Flashback - The Weight by The Band
Birth of a Child - Too Much Too Young by The Specials
Funeral Song - Free by Luke Douzet
End Credits - Such Great Heights by The Postal Service

I'm with PoTU-- too funny with Andre 3000!
And with 100 years as the flashback... you have a long life in front of you, it seems!

Some brilliantly apt ones there - Married With Children, the RATM track & Clapton amongst them.

Glad to hear Virgin came to your rescue - the difference between now and when they were NTL is amazing (I used to use NTL and am now on Virgin)
